Annual police recognition dinner scheduled for May

The 11th annual Police Recognition Dinner, sponsored by the Los Gatos Rotary Club, is scheduled for May 19, at La Rinconada Country Club, 14595 Clearview Drive in Los Gatos. The dinner, which is open to all members of the community, recognizes the work of members of the Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Police Department and civilians.

The featured guest speaker is John W. James, founder of The Grief Recovery Institute. There also will be awards and recognition given to personnel in the LG-MSPD and to local citizens for acts of heroism and significant contributions to the police department and the community.

The evening begins with a 6 p.m. social hour, followed by the dinner and program at 7 p.m. Cost is $35 per person, with an entree choice of filet mignon with salmon or vegetarian lasagna. Interested individuals--whether attending the event or not--are invited to participate in the "Sponsor a Cop" program, which pays for one attending officer's dinner. A specific officer can be named, if desired.

For more information or to obtain a reservation/sponsorship form, call Kent Cooper at 408.395.2771. Checks, payable to the Los Gatos Rotary Club, may also be mailed to Cooper at 718 University Ave., Suite 217, Los Gatos, 95030
