Village House appeal is set Eastfield Ming Quong comes back to the Town Council May 4, seeking approval for the new Village House, which was approved by the Planning Commission. An appeal has been filed. EMQ wants to turn the Village House, at 320 Village Lane, into a high-end gourmet restaurant, independently operated. The appeal was filed by Alain Staebler, who owns Cafe Marcella on Village Lane. Police recognition dinner on May 15 The ninth annual Police Recognition Dinner, sponsored by the Los Gatos Rotary Club, is scheduled for May 15 at La Rinconada Country Club, at 14595 Clearview Drive. The dinner recognizes the work of members of the Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Police Department as well as civilians. The speaker is Gordon McNeill, a special agent with the FBI. The evening begins with cocktails at 6 p.m. Dinner and the program begin at 7 p.m. Cost is $30 per person. Interested individuals--whether attending the event or not--are invited to participate in the "Sponsor a Cop" program, which pays for one officer's dinner. Call Dr. Don McCleve at 354-1703.
