A community read-in April 21 at Louise Van Meter Elementary School was the occasion for a visit by a number of people from the community, including Central Fire District Chief Douglas Sporleder (right), who read to Judy Holcomb's kindergarten class and then invited students to meet some firefighters and see a fire engine.
