Hancock speaks

John Hancock, head football coach at West Valley Community College, will be the guest speaker at a reception and dinner hosted by the Los Gatos Pop Warner Football Association on May 15, 6:30 p.m., at the Los Gatos History Club.

The event is open to the public, and the cost is $18 per person. For more information, call Lew Cramer at 358-9992.

Los Gatos Pop Warner Football has also announced that Laura Warmerhoven, Benjamin Miller and Buckley Wright were named second-team Academic All-Americans by Pop Warner Little Scholars, Inc. The youngsters were honored for their outstanding efforts in the classroom, on the field and in various community projects.

Coaches Needed

Los Gatos is looking for a number of coaches for the 1998-99 school year. The Wildcats need coaches for wrestling, track, cross-country, girls' water polo and swimming. Anyone qualified and interested should call Los Gatos athletic director Butch Cattolico at 354-2730.

LG United Soccer

The Los Gatos United Soccer League is currently holding registration for the fall recreational season. Registration forms are available at Mail Boxes Etc., 15466 Los Gatos Blvd., and open registration will be held May 26, 6-9 p.m., in the cafeteria at Fisher Middle School. There will be a registration session for coaches and referees only on May 12, 5:30- 8 p.m., at Stuft Pizza.

Girls' Basketball

A series of girls' basketball camps will be held at Santa Clara University this summer with sessions June 6 through July 31. For more information, call Shaunice Warr at 554-4567.
