Phase II of the Forbes Mill Footbridge Youth Mural Project is now under way, with painting dates scheduled for May 4 and 18 and June 1 from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m.
The Mural Project Committee is seeking local artists or art instructors to volunteer their time on one or more of the painting days, assisting local children and teens in color-mixing and in the process and technique of painting. Volunteers to help set up and clean up are also needed.
The purpose of the Forbes Mill Footbridge Youth Mural Project is to give the town's young people an opportunity to learn about the history and culture of this area while gaining experience about an art form and creating something in the community that they can call their own.
The project is funded by Hunter-Storm Properties, the Arts Council of Santa Clara County, the Town of Los Gatos, and the Los Gatos Kiwanis and Optimist Clubs. For more information, call Carol Taylor at 353-6517.
