Police Report
Domestic Violence--April 19, 7:22 a.m. A woman's ex-boyfriend went over to her house on the evening of April 18, while he was high on drugs. She tried to leave in her car, but he jumped on the car and forced her inside. The man choked the woman, trashed the inside of the house and left in her car the next morning. The woman told police that her ex-boyfriend may be staying at a friend's house on Blossom Hill Road. Police found him there and arrested him for spouse beating.
Public Code Violation--April 19, 2:37 p.m. A man threw a woman down and started choking her. When she called the police, he was getting ready to leave. She told the police that he had no weapons, and drugs and alcohol were not involved; she also said that he had never hit her before. She mentioned that it was a disagreement over child custody. When police arrived, the man was gone. A report was filed.
Driving with a Suspended License--April 20, 12:22 a.m. A man was driving his pickup truck on Main and Jackson streets, looking confused. After he made a U-turn towards N. Santa Cruz Avenue, police officers stopped him. He was cited, but not arrested.
Man with Gun--April 22, 1:03 a.m. Somebody called the police from a Los Gatos Boulevard bar, saying there was a man with a gun in the bar. The person sounded hysterical. Police went to the bar and talked to the subject. It turned out that there had been some kind of disturbance between the reporting party and the subject, and the bartender had asked the reporting party to leave. The person had probably called the police in retaliation. The report was false, and the bar promised to call police again if the man returned.
Possible Prowler--April 22, 7 p.m. A woman called the police, and she said that she thought she heard someone walking around in her attic. She had locked herself in her room. The police found that there were two raccoons on the roof.
Shoplifting--April 22, 2:41 p.m. Some clothing was stolen from the RK Shugart store on W. Main Street. The suspect also took some dresses from Adrienne's, but the dresses were retrieved. Police confronted the woman on Towne Terrace, and she told them that she had left two dresses near a residence off of University Avenue. The woman was arrested, but then cited and released.
Domestic Violence--April 22, 3:52 p.m. A woman was screaming as a man held her and forced her into a residence on Daves Avenue. The reporting party followed the two to the residence, where the man was arrested.
Shoplifting--April 23, 7 p.m. A 17-year-old was seen taking alcohol from a liquor store on Los Gatos-Saratoga Road, and then running from the store into an SUV with two females in it. The car was later spotted with a woman driving it and the boy walking. A witness confirmed it in a drive-by identification. The subjects were stopped at a Shell station, where witnesses identified the boy. He was arrested and taken to juvenile hall.
Disturbance--April 23, 11:02 p.m. On Kennedy Road and Longmeadow Drive, somebody called about a woman yelling, a gunshot, something crashing and then someone yelling, "You think I am the enemy." Police talked to the woman who was yelling to her husband, and found that it was a verbal argument about real estate. No report was taken.
Warrant Served--April 25, 12:07 a.m. A traffic stop on N. Santa Cruz Avenue turned up a man who was wanted by the county sheriff's office on a $2,000 warrant for driving with a suspended license, expired registration and failure to appear in court. The suspect was taken into custody, and will appear in the Palo Alto court on June 27.
Vandalism--April 25, 8:52 p.m. A house on University Avenue was egged over the weekend. The family said that their daughter's car had been burglarized on the West Valley College campus, and thought that it was the same person in both cases. No report was taken.
