    Welsh men's choir to perform

The Caldicot Male Voice Choir of Wales has chosen Los Gatos as the only Northern California stop of its current tour. The choir will sing on May 9, at 7:30 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church of Los Gatos, 16575 Shannon Road.

The Choir, which last performed locally in 1991, is directed by Sian Hatton and assisted by Meurig Jones. The group numbers about 60 men and has performed throughout the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany and the Netherlands. They perform music from a wide repertoire, including hymns and songs flavored by their Welsh heritage. The group's name comes from the village in southeast Wales, where it first began in the early 1960s.

The Choir is joined by soloist Jill Harris, a mezzo soprano who specializes in opera, oratorio, musical theater and folk songs. She is also a native of Wales and has sung with choirs throughout her native country.

Admission is $15 for adults and $10 for students and senior citizens. Everyone is welcome. For tickets or more information, call 408.866.5448.
