Puppy steals Lions' hearts

When the Los Gatos Lions met for their regular luncheon meeting two weeks ago, all eyes were on a cute puppy with a career in service ahead of him. He arrived at the Los Gatos Lodge in the arms of Jackie Hill, a member of the Seaside Lions Club, which is in charge of the Lions Project for Canine Companions for Independence. Greeting the pup is Lion George Neukam. The local organization is sponsoring the training of this puppy so that he can prepare to become a Canine Companion. The program supplies physically challenged individuals with specially trained dogs to aid in everyday tasks such as getting a can off a shelf or turning on a light.
