      Marie Unck

      Marie Prina Denkers Unck died April 5 of cancer-related illnesses in the Monte Sereno home of her daughter. Unck was 81.

      The daughter of Dutch immigrants, Unck was born April 18, 1915, in Ogden, Utah. After leaving Utah at age 17, Unck settled in San Francisco until 1968, when she and her husband, John, moved to Monte Sereno to live with daughter Patsy and her family.

      Unck was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where she served as a Sunday school teacher, primary teacher, visiting teacher and nursery director.

      Survivors are husband John Barend Unck of Monte Sereno; daughters Patsy Jenkins of Monte Sereno, Sheila Criss of San Jose and Diane Hendee of Trabuco Canyon; sons Johnny Unck of San Jose and Walter Unck of Pacifica; 26 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; niece Sandi Brimmer of Sunnyvale; sister Ruth Goetsch of Santa Clara and brother Paul Denkers of San Diego.

      Memorial services have been held, with interment at Los Gatos Memorial Park.

      Nita Radford

      Nita Radford, who was residing at the Guardian Rehabilitation Center in Los Gatos, died April 6 at the age of 100.

      She was born Aug. 21, 1896, in Santa Inez. Along with her late husband, Henry, Radford built the Star Motel in Watsonville; the Radfords were developers of Rio Del Mar and Half Moon Bay.

      Survivors include three nephews, two nieces and grandnieces and nephews.

      Memorial services have been held, with inurnment at Santa Cruz Memorial Park Mission Mausoleum.
