In the May 1 issue of the Los Gatos Weekly-Times, a letter from architect John Lien was inadvertently attributed to Evelyn Lecznar-Checke. Lien's letter praised the Byer Center currently under construction at the corner of Los Gatos Boulevard and Blossom Hill Road as a good example of a well-scaled, pedestrian-friendly structure. Lecznar-Checke's signature also appeared on the letter she did write in which she criticized the same structure as ugly and obtrusive. We regret the error.
