Richard Donner
Richard P. Donner, Ph.D., recently joined Eastfield Ming Quong as director of individualized services. He will be based on the Los Gatos campus, managing Program UPLIFT, which provides "wraparound" service for emotionally troubled children and their families.
The wraparound approach helps keep children and families together by "wrapping" a set of individualized services around them in their home and community. Parents participate actively in the treatment process.
Donner, who received his doctorate in social work from the University of Kansas, brings with him many years of consultation work and lecturing on wraparound-type services and systems nationwide. He has also directed emergency crisis intervention services and residential programming for children and youth.
Two years ago, EMQ downsized its residential treatment program and shifted its emphasis to wraparound care. Many children who would previously have been removed from their homes and placed in residential treatment facilities can now be served through wraparound care. EMQ is the first California agency to offer these services.
