Alex Burda hit the ball well for the Mariners when they knocked off the Reds 4-1 in Los Gatos Pony League play last week.
But as good as Burda was at the plate, he was even better on the mound.
Burda tossed a no-hitter to spark the Mariners to the exciting victory. He struck out 17 along the way.
Burda also helped his cause at the plate by stroking a couple of hits and scoring a run.
Burda also tossed the Mariners to a 5-2 win over the Rangers. Simon Ormandy singled and tripled in the loss for the Rangers.
The Reds battled back for a little revenge later in the week with a 7-4 win over the Mariners. The Reds also ripped the Orioles 16-2 thanks to a two-run homer by Casey Neale.
In other action, Mike Cook ripped a run-scoring single and was the winning pitcher for the Rangers in an 8-5 win over the Orioles.
Keiju Sotoh belted four hits and scored three runs to lead the Giants to a 12-7 win over the Red Sox.
Steve Chase singled and doubled to lead the Braves to a 7-4 win over the Giants later in the week. Chase also tossed five innings to get the mound win.
Chase had fired a one-hitter for the Braves in an 11-1 win over the Pirates.
The Red Sox rallied for an 8-5 win over the Pirates, despite five scoreless innings of work by Bucs pitcher Ryan Ogormon.
