Paint on Paint

Seventh-grade students from St. Mary's School paint over graffiti on a Highway 85 soundwall near Lora Avenue in Los Gatos. Caltrans supplied the paint and supplies for the April 22 effort, which took about an hour and a half in the afternoon. Los Gatos Police Community Service Officer Gwen Cross and Bill York, a Volunteer in Policing who serves as volunteer coordinator for the program, helped organize the project, which some 35 seventh-graders did as a community service project. Cross and York also dipped in and joined the kids in painting.
