    Police Report

    Warrant Served--April 26, 4:58 p.m. Police conducted a traffic stop at Los Gatos Boulevard. and Gateway Drive. The 44-year-old man in the car had a $5,000 warrant from the Los Altos Police Department for driving with a suspended license and no proof of insurance, and a $305 warrant from Santa Clara Police Department for failure to appear. The man's car was towed, and he was arrested.

    Robbery and Battery--April 26, 6:12 p.m. A man was walking along New York Avenue when he was jumped by four men who came out of a Jeep Wrangler. The four men pushed the victim into the bushes, pulled his shirt over his head, took his backpack and attempted to take his wallet. The victim did not recognize the suspects and did not take down the license plate number of the Wrangler, but reported that two of the suspects were around 17 years old. A report was taken.

    Neighbor Disturbance--April 27, 3:40 p.m. Two neighbors on Old Adobe Road were feuding. One put up a fence that was one inch over the property lines. Her neighbors told the woman's handyman that they would kill her dogs and throw them into the river if the dogs ever went onto their property. Police merely gave the woman advice because it was a civil matter.

    Welfare Check--April 27, 6:49 p.m. A patient at Emmanuel Convalescent Home called the police, saying another patient had hit her and she could identify who it was. When police spoke to the nurse, the nurse did not know whether or not the patient had been hit but said that the patient called 911 frequently and was confused. When contacted, the patient's daughter said that her mother suffered from dementia and bipolar disorder, and often picks fights with other patients. The daughter said she would call the doctor in the morning. No report was taken.

    Assault with a Deadly Weapon--April 27, 2:43 a.m. Fire and ambulance personnel were at the victim's residence on Oleander Avenue. There was no suspect information, but the assault had occurred at Boulevard Tavern. The victim's car was parked at the Tavern, and police found a knife inside the car, on the floor. Santa Clara County Sheriff's Department officers also joined the investigation. The victim's brother found a bloody shirt at the home just before the victim was taken to Valley Medical Center. Police also located the person who had called in the assault. A report was taken.

    Domestic Disturbance--April 28, 1:39 a.m. A woman said her husband had hit her in the face and only wanted advice for dealing with the situation; she promptly hung up. Police went to her home to investigate, spoke to her husband and arrested him.

    Elderly Female--April 28, 4:15 p.m. A woman called the police; she was concerned about her 89-year-old aunt who was not answering her phone. She said her aunt had dementia, but no other known medical conditions. The home-care provider found that the phone was off the hook and that there were no other problems. No report was taken.

    Warrant Served--April 28, 6:26 p.m. Police did a traffic stop at Los Gatos-Almaden Road and Verde Court. The driver had a $7,500 warrant out from Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office for driving with a suspended driver's license and expired vehicle registration. The person was arrested.

    Uncontrollable Juvenile--April 29, 12:10 a.m. A girl was angry with her mother because her mother would not allow her to burn a candle in her room. She was bleeding from her head and her mother didn't know why. When the mother and stepfather tried to stop the girl from leaving the house, she hit her stepfather on the shoulder, leaving a bruise. A report was taken.

    Disturbance--May 1, 8:48 a.m. A transient caused a disturbance at Los Gatos Laundry Company. He shoved a laundry cart at one of the customers, and then fled before police arrived.

    Battery--May 1, 11:01 a.m. A man ran past a woman on Los Gatos-Saratoga Road and pushed her. The man ran towards the Texaco Station and then to the back of Edna Ray's. The police had him in custody and identified him as the transient from the Los Gatos Laundry disturbance. Both the woman who was pushed and the person who had called the police identified the man at the Los Gatos Shopping Center. The man was charged with assault and battery, and was arrested.

    Drugs--May 2, 6:44 p.m. Passerby on Los Gatos Boulevard, witnessed a man hitting a woman. They were then spotted walking toward Boulevard Tavern. Police arrested the man for being under the influence of drugs and possession of marijuana. They arrested the woman for being under the influence of drugs, possession of opium paraphernalia and possession of marijuana. Both were taken to jail.
