ObituariesCharles Ingalls Los Gatan Charles S. Ingalls died of heart failure April 13 at the age of 88. Born Oct. 3, 1909, in Omaha, Neb., Ingalls excelled in high school sports and considered playing professional baseball. A graduate of the University of Southern California, he married wife Kathleen in 1941, served in the Army Corps of Engineers, moved back to Omaha and had two children. The family then moved to Colorado for many years. In 1986, Ingalls and his wife settled in San Jose and later in Los Gatos. Ingalls and his small firm in Fort Collins, Ingalls & Associates, designed more than 50 of the buildings at Colorado State University. He also designed residences, churches of all denominations, businesses and educational buildings in Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, Minnesota and Missouri. Locally, he designed his daughter Kathleen's home. One of his favorite hobbies was fly fishing, especially in Colorado. He began tying his own flies and became known for his exquisite and detailed flies, according to his wife. Ingalls also enjoyed sports and reading. Survivors include wife Kathleen Campbell Ingalls of Los Gatos; son and daughter-in-law Charles S. Ingalls III and Marian Ingalls of Dallas, Texas; daughter Kathleen A. Brown of Los Gatos; and granddaughters Brooke Bergere Brown of Seattle, Wash., Lindsay Brown of Los Gatos and Tara Laine Ingalls of Dallas. Memorial services have been held. Dorothy Hansen Los Gatan Dorothy Hansen, better known as "Dot" to her friends, died suddenly of a stroke Feb. 10 at the age of 70. Hansen was born and raised in San Francisco, where she graduated from San Francisco State University. While in college, she met and married her piano partner, Cliff, who preceded her in death in 1985. She was a teacher in the Franklin-McKinley School District in San Jose as well as at San Jose City College. She also taught piano lessons in her home for nearly 30 years. Hansen was an accompanist for the women's chorus "The Zingers" as well as for numerous soloists, instrumentalists and choruses in schools, churches and community groups. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Leanne and Michael Beck of Livermore; daughter Suzanne Hansen of Los Gatos; five grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Marjorie vonWeise Marjorie Boettler vonWeise died April 3 after a brief illness. She was 83. A native of St. Louis, Mo., she was very active in community service activities. Upon moving to Los Gatos some 18 years ago, she was active in the Junior League, was a leader in the Homeowners Association at the Los Gatos Commons and was a longtime docent for the San Jose Historical Museum. VonWeise was predeceased by daughter Nancy Evans. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Ann and Ronald Whyte of Los Gatos; son and daughter-in-law W. Gage and June vonWeise of St. Louis, Mo.; daughter and son-in-law Martha and Fred Sher of St. Louis; 10 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and brother and sister-in-law Dolph and Anita Boettler of St. Louis. Memorial services have been held. Donations may be made to Child Advocates, 1731 N. First St., Suite 3, San Jose, 95112.
