Los Gatos Weekly-TimesThe ProwlerWith so many cool events starting mid-May, how's a cat supposed to mention them all? The Prowler feels a bit redundant in this predicament, but that's the way it goes for a cat about town. May 14-20, the Los Gatos-Saratoga Joint High School District's 22nd annual District Art Show is at San Jose's Westgate Mall in room 411. Featuring ceramics, painting, photography and drawings, the show is on view noon to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends. A reception takes place May 15 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Another art event this month is Tercera Gallery's Spring Portfolio Show, a sampling of work from many local and national artists who show at Tercera, including John Maxon, Howard Hersh, Ken O'Neil, Eric Hoffman, Katherine Venturelli and Karl Hermann. On May 16-17, some artists will be at the gallery to talk about their works. For info, call 354-9484. For a fun afternoon with the kids, check out Charmer Preschool's Annual Family Fest, held May 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 1975 Pollard Road in Los Gatos. The Prowler hears there will be a jumping house, carnival games, food and drinks, music by Juliette McDonald, a silent auction and a toy and book sale. The Snap-Dragon puppet troupe performs at 11:30 a.m. Call 378-7805 for info. Speaking of a charming afternoon, the Prowler wants all "seasoned" citizens to know there's a Spring Tea for Seniors in their honor on May 17 at 2:30 p.m. at A Place for Teens. The teens themselves are the hosts, offering tea, sandwiches and cookies. There's also music and games. Call 395-3620 for reservations.
