Andrew Fanelli is a second-degree black belt.
The newest karate studio in town needs a few students who want to go for the gold.
All-Pro Tae Kwon Do owner Andrew Fanelli hopes to prepare students for Olympic competition within a few years. Tae kwon do will be an Olympic event starting with the 1998 games. Although All-Pro probably won't have any students prepared by that time, Fanelli hopes that within a few Olympiads some of his students will be ready. Fanelli's classes will emphasize sparring, which will be important for Olympic competition.
Karate students sometimes get their kicks at the strangest times. Knowing this, Fanelli set some of the longest hours in town when he opened his studio at the New Town Shopping Center April 28.
The 3,000-square-foot studio is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. As a result, Fanelli said, the studio offers a wide variety of class times for students at each belt level.
A second-degree black belt, Fanelli taught for 14 years at America's Best Karate. The 27-year-old said he's always wanted to own a karate studio.
All-Pro is located at New Town Shopping Center, 15545 Los Gatos Blvd. Suite D. For information call 891-3699.
