YWCA honors two Los Gatans

Los Gatans Barbara Beck and Nancy Holleran were among the 48 Silicon Valley women honored by the YWCA of Santa Clara Valley during the 13th annual Tribute to Women and Industry, held this spring at the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose.

Beck is employed by Cisco Systems, Inc., where she is a business partner, member of the senior management team and vice president of human resources. Holleran, an employee of IBM, is vice president of its storage systems division and vice president/director of technology integration.

Both women were unanimously selected by their companies' executive staffs as executives who have demonstrated outstanding performance in their commitment to growth, profitability, motivation and innovation.

Other major sponsors of the tribute were Cisco Systems, Inc., AT&T and Sun Microsystems, Inc.
