Frosh meeting
Los Gatos High School will host a night for incoming freshmen interested in competing in athletics in the upcoming 2002-03 school year. Students will be able to meet coaches at the event set for May 28, 7 p.m., in the main gym at the high school.
Players needed
The Los Gatos Chaos, a girls under-17 class 1 team in the Los Gatos United Soccer League, is looking for players for the upcoming season. Training begins the first week of June. For more information, call coach Vince Tripp at 408.921.8025.
Greenfield MVP
Lisa Greenfield, a 1997 graduate of Los Gatos High School, was named the most valuable player of the women's water polo team at George Washington University. Greenfield is scheduled to graduate from GWU this spring.
X-Games trials
Professional skateboarders Rich Cooley and Donovan Dresti performed well enough in a recent competition that they are expected to be invited to participate in the trials for the X-Games slated for May 16-19 in Atlanta, Ga.
Cooley finished 14th and Dresti was 25th at a recent skateboarding event held in Texas.
Field Hockey
Applications are now being accepted for teams interested in playing in the 23rd annual Willow Glen Field Hockey Jamboree Sept. 6-7. Each participating team is guaranteed a minimum of five games.

Irish tourney
The sixth annual Irish American Heritage Society (IAHS) Golf Tournament will be held on May 20 at the Almaden Golf and Country Club.
Saratoga's Deirdre Gallagher, a former tutor for Bing Crosby's children, is a member of the organizing committee for the IAHS Tournament, which has raised nearly $500,000 for scholarships, youth programs and economic development throughout Ireland.
The Shamrock Foursome golf package includes golf, lunch and an awards dinner for four for $1,500. For more information, call 408.445.1364.
