    On Campus

    Education office offers workshops

    The Santa Clara County Office of Education is hosting two long-range planning workshops focusing on new programs and improvements to current ones, as well as a discussion on long-range goals and strategic directions for the district.

    The workshops are on May 25 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Community Room at Miller Junior High School, 6151 Rainbow Drive, San Jose, and on May 26 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Oak Grove School District boardroom, 6578 Santa Teresa Blvd., San Jose.

    Scholarships offered by MS Association

    The Multiple Sclerosis Association of America is sponsoring a national essay competition in which high school and college students can compete for college scholarships.

    The Learn MS '99 competition is open to high school juniors and seniors and college freshmen and sophomores. Participants must write a 500- to 1,000-word essay on how multiple sclerosis affects a person and his or her family on a daily basis. The entries must be typed and double spaced and can be in the form of a letter, poem or feature story. The deadline is June 5. Registration forms can be obtained by calling 1-800-LEARN MS or by emailing to msaa@msaa.com.
