New hospital administrator brings 25 years' experience

The Columbia Bay Area Healthcare Network recently appointed William K. Piché as the new chief executive officer of Columbia Good Samaritan/Mission Oaks Hospitals. He succeeds Joan White, who will retire from her position at the end of May.

Piché has over 25 years of experience managing healthcare operations, including a shared hospital services company, acute care hospitals and regional health systems. He also has worked with specialty services in industrial medicine, women's health and ambulatory care.

Prior to assuming the CEO position, Piché spent two years with the Hospital Council of Northern and Central California, where he served as president and CEO of Management Alliance and president and CEO of SharePlus, a shared service company of the Hospital Council.

From 1987 to 1993, he was president and CEO of Memorial Hospitals Association in Modesto. From 1977 to 1987, he held various positions with National Medical Enterprises, including executive director and CEO of Doctors Medical Center in Modesto.

"We welcome the breadth of experience and fresh perspective Bill Piché brings to our network of hospitals and related services in the South Bay. His leadership skill will ensure that Columbia Good Samaritan/Mission Oaks Hospitals continue their current level of dynamic growth," said Thomas C. May, CEO of the Columbia Bay Area Healthcare Network.
