Police Report
Warrant Served--May 9, 8:15 p.m. Police stopped a car that was driving on Los Gatos Boulevard and Gateway Drive. The driver had a $15,000 warrant out of the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office for possession of a controlled substance and being under the influence of drugs. Police confiscated his shotgun, and he was arrested.
Forgery--May 9, 3:36 p.m. Bank of the West on N. Santa Cruz Avenue reported a man who had forged and cashed a check. The bank had his thumbprint and driver's license number. On the same day, Bank of the West at Cox and Saratoga avenues reported forgery by a man fitting the same description. A report was taken.
Assault with a Deadly Weapon--May 10, 6:21 p.m. A man threatened someone with a 2-by-4 on University Avenue. The suspect is a tow truck driver with South Bay Auto Body. Police located him at the body shop and arrested him. While en route to jail, the man possibly had a stroke. He was taken to Valley Medical Center.
Reckless Driving--May 11, 11:50 p.m. A red Corvette was going 85 mph on Highway 17, near Los Gatos-Saratoga Road. Police pulled the car over and had the driver at gunpoint. He was taken into custody and was cited for reckless driving.
Mysterious Illness--May 12, 4:18 p.m. A resident called the police, saying their daughter and her friend were both at a Los Gatos restaurant the night before at 10:30. They were driven home by another friend. The next morning, both started having convulsions and didn't remember anything about the evening before. Police began an investigation.
Missing Juvenile--May 13, 10:08 a.m. A teenager was reported missing by one of her parents. She had last been seen at Los Gatos High School the previous afternoon; she had a history of running away from home frequently. A report was taken. That afternoon, the girl showed up at the police station to report a case of child abuse, and showed the bruises on her arms.
Traffic Hazard--May 15, 1:12 p.m. A bunch of people with a car were in front of Los Gatos High School, protesting something. The people were in the street and created a traffic hazard. They promised the police they would stay on the sidewalk; a crowd formed around them as interested bystanders and gawkers drove by, but there was no traffic hazard. By 3 p.m., the protesters were all gone.
Hit and Run--May 15, 5:22 p.m. On Miles Avenue, a car was hit by a pickup truck. The victim followed the truck to Village Lane, behind Pedro's. The driver did not speak English and worked for Del Campo foods. He was arrested for misdemeanor hit & run and driving without a license.
