Beverly Kelly
Beverly Jane Kelly died of cancer in her Los Gatos home on April 19. She was 69.
Born on Aug. 5, 1930, in Wilkes Barre, Penn., Kelly lived in Los Gatos for the past 35 years. She enjoyed Dixieland jazz music and was a loyal fan of the San Francisco 49ers.
Survivors include daughter Kimberly Kelly Goddard of Santa Cruz; sons Shannon Kelly of Gilroy and Kevin Kelly of Los Gatos; five grandchildren; mother Dorothy Davis of Los Gatos and sister Zelda Jacobson.

Mary Main
Former Los Gatos resident Mary Frank Main died on April 26, in Chico at age 92.
Born on Aug. 7, 1907, in Vernal, Utah, Main was a Los Gatos High School graduate and a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening and reading.
Survivors include son Frank Main of Paradise; daughter Merry Barker of Paradise; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters Vienice Frank, Alberda Hanback and Ro Burda; and brother William Frank.
Memorial services have been held, with inurnment at Los Gatos Memorial Park.
Deal Christensen
Longtime Los Gatan Deal Christensen died on April 28, at the age of 94.
Born on Nov. 6, 1905, in Spanish Fork, Utah, in his youth he worked for his father, a rancher and dry goods store owner. Christensen married wife Katherine in 1926; soon afterward, the couple moved to California, where Christensen worked for more than 20 years with the JC Penney Company. During that time the couple also had a son, Deal Jr. and a daughter, Katherine Patricia.
In 1951, Christensen and his assistant manager, Robert Whitlow, left Penney's to start their own department store in downtown Los Gatos. In August of that year, they opened Chrislow's Department Store, located where Martino's now stands. After Whitlow left to run a business in Saratoga, Christensen and his wife--popularly known as "Mr. and Mrs. C."--ran Chrislow's with their son for 42 more years.
Christensen also found time for his many other interests, including obtaining a pilot's license, singing professionally, fishing, playing golf and rooting for the San Francisco 49ers. He loved horses, dogs and ranching and built a cabin in South Lake Tahoe.
Christensen was predeceased by his wife Katherine in 1986. Survivors include companion Maude Thompson of San Jose; son and daughter-in-law Deal "Bud" and Nancy Christensen of Los Gatos; daughter and son-in-law K. Patricia and Frederick Hawkins of Belmont; granddaughters Debra Roach, S. Lorraine Perri, Kathleen Christensen and Leslie Dill; and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorial services have been held, with interment at Los Gatos Memorial Park.
Howard Wilder
Former Los Gatan Howard Clarke Wilder died on May 8, at the age of 76.
Born on July 9, 1923, in San Francisco, Wilder graduated from Los Gatos High School in 1940, where he was active in tennis. After high school, he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. For four years, he was a prisoner of war. During his years of service, he earned the WWII Victory Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, the American Campaign Medal and the Prisoner of War Medal.
After his 1945 honorable discharge, he lived in various places in the United States until he moved to Los Gatos in 1959. He lived here until January 2000, when he and his wife moved to Gold Beach, Ore.
Survivors include wife Nancy Wilder of Gold Beach; sons Craig Wilder of Los Gatos; William Wilder of Portland, Ore.; Edward Wilder of Santa Rosa and Howard Wilder of Huntington Beach; daughters Anne Kohn of Las Vegas, Nev., and Kim Wilder of Los Gatos; also six grandchildren.
