Obituary

Steven Wilson

Los Gatos resident Steven Douglas Wilson died March 10 at Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose following a mysterious illness. He was 17.

Born June 19, 1980, at Good Samaritan Hospital, Wilson was a senior at St. Francis High School in Mountain View. He was a graduate of St. Mary's School in Los Gatos and had been accepted at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, where he planned to pursue a degree in architecture.

Over Christmas vacation, Wilson traveled to Costa Rica with his father and stepmother and experienced the first of three episodes of tachycardia, nausea and metabolic acidosis. The last time he was stricken, doctors were unable to revive him. After extensive tests, medical examiners were unable to determine a cause of death.

Among his interests were snowboarding, surfing and playing rugby.

Wilson is survived by mother Anita Tracy Wilson of Monte Sereno; father and stepmother P. Brien and Xi Zhao Wilson of Los Gatos; grandmother Mary Lou Tracy of Campbell; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, including David and Alexandra Cuccias of Los Gatos.

Memorial services have been held. Donations may be made to St. Francis High School in Mountain View or St. Mary's Church in Los Gatos.
