TrailWatch Academy is gearing up for summer

The county Parks and Recreation Department begins its TrailWatch Academy June 10. Volunteers may attend the 12-hour academy for training in basic first aid, radio operation and park orientation. Bike and equestrian volunteers are given an additional operations certification.

After completing the academy, TrailWatch volunteers are asked to provide at least 48 hours of patrol each year.
