Forum on growth, housing and transportation

Issues of growth, traffic and the imbalance of jobs to housing will be discussed on June 15 at "Local Decisions: Regional Impacts," a workshop sponsored by Santa Clara County.

The free workshop runs from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Mexican Heritage Plaza auditorium in San Jose. Local government officials and business and community leaders from San Francisco to Monterey will explore local and regional strategies for addressing growth.

Preregistration is required, and refreshments will be served. Call the Santa Clara County Planning Office at 408.299.2454, ext. 225 for more information.

    High schools plan their graduations

The community is invited to attend graduation ceremonies for the class of 2000 at Los Gatos High School and Leigh High School.

LGHS will celebrate the graduation of close to 330 seniors on June 16, at 6 p.m. on the front lawn. Three thousand chairs will be available on a first come, first seated basis. The high school recommends people arrive by 5 p.m. for the best parking and seating. The Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Police Department will close down East Main Street for the ceremony.

Leigh High School graduation will be held on June 15, at 5 p.m. in the Football Bowl on campus.

Parking at the school is first come first served; however, tickets are needed for admission to the ceremony and can be purchased in the main office for one dollar. There are approximately 375 students graduating.
