The police C.A.R.E. for senior citizens

Senior citizens living alone in Los Gatos and Monte Sereno and the friends and family members who care about them are encouraged to contact the Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Police Department to find out more about Operation C.A.R.E., which stands for Caring About Resident Elders. The free program involves a police dispatcher calling a senior at an agreed-upon time each day.

If the dispatcher cannot reach the senior, he or she then tries calling alternate contact numbers the senior provides. If no one can be contacted, a LG-MSPD officer will be dispatched to the senior's home for a welfare check. For more information about Operation C.A.R.E., call Community Service Officer Gwen Cross at 408.354.6842.
