Los Gatos gains a chic new mural

Danica Finitz, owner of Le Chic Salon at 106 Royce St., looks at a likeness of herself on the new mural gracing an outside wall of her business. She took over the building from another salon on April 1 and came up with the mural idea to make her salon more distinctive and provide a European flair. The large artwork was painted by the mother/daughter team of, respectively, Joyce Oroz of Watsonville and Wendy Carter of Los Gatos. Finitz says she had an idea in her mind's eye for the mural, but none of the artists she interviewed picked up on it--until she met Oroz and Carter. During the salon's June 27 grand opening, Finitz will be sporting the dress her likeness wears in the mural.
