Youth Choir to perform

    The Prowler

With the first day of summer a week away, the fun-loving Prowler is excited about all the things to do around cat town for folks of every age and interest!

While pawing through the summer 2000 magazine from the Los Gatos-Saratoga Community Education and Recreation Department, the Prowler noticed that along with many stand-bys, there are also tons of brand-spankin'-new activities. For those readers who missed it, or for those suffering from end-of-school-year daze, here's a sample of what caught this sharp cat-eye:

Destination Science is a day camp for budding mad scientists, ages 5 to 11. There are three appropriately named sessions: Zany Lab, Space & Rocket Mania and Super Sonic Sci-2K. Sports-minded youngsters (of various age groups) will get a kick out of flag football, volleyball camp, foil fencing and beginning sailing. Among the activities for tykes under four is Summer Buddies, a fun series of Wednesday mornings in which kids meet new friends, make crafts, sing songs and play games.

Grown-ups, feel like you're missing out? Don't! There's tons of fun and learning opportunities available. Getting Your Business Online offers small- and home-based businesspeople a gold mine of tips, while Summer Salads offers an equally varied selection of recipes and demonstrations for anyone who enjoys eating light and healthy. Clay Play, despite its name, is a ceramics class for adults only; while Painting Your Way to Happiness and Classical Guitar offer professional instruction on just what their titles suggest.

For info on these classes, call 408.354.8700, or visit www.lgsararec.org on the Internet.
