Los Gatos Weekly-TimesNews BriefsChevron remodel pushed to August A proposed remodel for the Chevron station at 275 Los Gatos-Saratoga Road, which was expected to sail through the Planning Commission as a consent item, was continued until August at last week's meeting. Chevron wants to demolish the station and rebuild from the ground up--literally. The company plans to put new, double-walled safety tanks underground and put up a 24-hour snack mart on the site. But neighbors, who didn't say anything to either Chevron or the town in the previous four months, are suddenly complaining, town officials say. The plans were pulled from the consent calendar by Planning Commissioner Len Pacheco, who said he has problems with the design of the proposed station. Chevron wants to put the snack mart on the east side of the lot (next to the Shell station), instead of where the current building stands, on the south side. At least one neighbor has complained about the glare of neon lights, which are currently shielded by the existing building.
