Holy City Race

The annual Holy City Race returns to the small town in the Santa Cruz Mountains on June 28. Runners will take off on the hilly 9.1-mile course at 7:30 a.m. in Holy City, Old Santa Cruz Highway off of Redwood Estates. The cost is $3 per runner. For information, call 435-2820.

Pop Warner

Openings remain for players and cheerleaders for the fall season in the Los Gatos Pop Warner Football Association.

The Los Gatos Panthers has openings for players ages 12-14 between 120-145 pounds. Call 270-1443.

Girls ages 8-14 can sign up to become cheerleaders in the fall season. For information call 353-8697.

Triathlons at Lake Almaden

The Danskin Women's Triathlon and the San Jose International Triathlon will be held on back-to-back weekends at Lake Almaden on Almaden Expressway in San Jose.

The Danskin Triathlon, for women only, is set for June 21. Women will compete in a half-mile swim, a 20K bike race and a 5K run. The cost is $40 for individuals or $90 for relays, and there is a mandatory orientation on June 20. There will also be a special 5K run/walk for both men and women, and the entry fee is $15.

The San Jose International will be held June 28 on the same site, but competitors will complete a 1K swim, 40K bike ride and 10K run. The entry fee is $70 for individuals or $100 for relays by June 21, or $80 and $125 after.

The event will also feature a mountain bike sprint triathlon on June 27.
