Police Report

Battery--June 14, 2:32 p.m. at Union Avenue and Los Gatos-Almaden Road. A group of people harassed the caller; one hit him and stole his cigarettes. Police did not locate the suspects.

Neighborhood disturbance--June 15, 3:33 a.m. at Roberts Road and University Avenue. A caller said a plane had been flying low in the area for five minutes. Police notified the San Jose International Airport control tower.

Grand theft--June 16, 1:33 p.m. on Peralta Avenue. Someone stole a mountain bike from the caller's front porch and left a different bike in its place. Police took a report.

Malicious mischief--June 17, 8:25 a.m. on Karl Avenue. The caller's lawn-clippings can was spilled onto the lawn during the night; the caller thinks this is connected to a dispute with a neighbor and wanted to notify the police.

Juvenile disturbance--June 17, 2:51 p.m. on Grays Lane. Skaters were swearing loudly in a parking garage. Police sent them on their way.

Possible fire--June 17, 11:31 a.m. on University Avenue. A circuit breaker box was smoking. Police notified the Central Fire District, which responded, along with an electrician.

Drunk in public--June 17, 8:06 p.m. on Los Gatos Boulevard. An intoxicated man locked himself in a service station's restroom. When he came out, police arrested him for public drunkenness.
