Youth Football

Los Gatos Pop Warner football will hold final signups for players and cheerleaders on July 19, 10 a.m., at Fisher Middle School. Signups will be followed by a meeting for parents from 10:30 a.m. to noon.

The organization is for youngsters ages 8-15 who live in Los Gatos, Saratoga, Campbell and Willow Glen. The season begins Aug. 1.

Former Saratoga head football coach Benny Pierce will work with the 12-15 age group team this fall. This is the first season 15-year-olds have been eligible for the program.

All-Comers Meets

Los Gatos will host all-comers track and field meets on Thursdays, 5 p.m., through Aug. 14, at the high school track. There is a $3 entry fee. For information, call Willie Harmatz at 354-7365 or Steve Barth at 354-2730.

Hoop Camp

The annual Sid Williams Basketball Camp returns to Fisher Middle School July 14-18. The camp is designed for "motivated players" entering the fifth-ninth grades.

Session 1 for boys and girls entering fifth and sixth grades will be held 1-3:30 p.m. each day, and players entering seventh-ninth grades will attend Session 2 from 4 to 7 p.m. For more information, call 358-9323.

Lasers Camps

The San Jose Lasers of the American Basketball League will hold summer basketball camps for boys and girls in August at San Jose State University.

The camps, led by members of the Lasers and the team's coaching staff, will be held Aug. 11-14, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. each day, for girls in grades 8-12 and Aug. 18-21, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. each day, for girls and boys in grades 3-8. The cost is $205 per player. For more information, call 271-1500.
