Two council seats to be contested
Anyone who wants to run for two Town Council seats up for grabs in the November election can pick up candidates' papers after 8 a.m. July 15. Seats are also open for town clerk and town treasurer.
The terms of Patrick O'Laughlin and Linda Lubeck will be contested.
Those who wish to run must make an appointment with Town Clerk Marian Cosgrove to pay the $25 filing fee and pick up the application. Candidates will later have to pay a $380 fee to the county registrar for publishing ballot statements.
The clerk's office is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.
The papers must be returned to the clerk by 5 p.m. Aug. 9.
Anyone running for a town office must be a resident and registered voter.

Mayor invites public to discuss communications
After requests that the town improve communications with its residents, Mayor Randy Attaway scheduled a meeting for July 25 at 4:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 110 E. Main St.
The mayor wants residents to come to Town Hall and offer suggestions on how the town can better communicate with its constituents about important issues.

Town honors arts contributors
The Town Council honored businesses who support Music in the Park at its July 1 meeting by passing a resolution thanking them.
The resolution commended these major sponsors: Andalé Taqueria, Campo di Bocce, Citibank, Domus, Double D's Sports Grille, Los Gatos Camera Center, The Rotary Club of Los Gatos, The Studio, Twig Gallery and Valeriano's Ristorante.
