Los Gatos Weekly-TimesBusiness BriefsDale Achabal is promoted at SCU School of Business Dale Achabal, a professor of marketing at Santa Clara University's Leavey School of Business, is now the associate dean of research and faculty development, following his appointment by the school's dean, Barry Z. Posner. A Los Gatos resident, Achabal is now responsible for identifying faculty-development needs and resources, as well as implementing programs to strengthen teaching in the business school. Additionally, he coordinates new and ongoing scholarships by the Leavey School faculty. Achabal holds the L.J. Skaggs Distinguished Professorship at SCU and teaches undergraduate, graduate and executive education courses. He also directs the business school's Retail Management Institute and the Retail Workbench, a research consortium sponsored by global retailers. His own research focuses on decision support and knowledge systems, productivity analysis and retail patronage. LG Lodge marketer receives designation Odette G. Morrow, director of marketing for the Los Gatos Lodge on Los Gatos-Saratoga Road, recently received her Certified Hospitality Marketing Executive designation from Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International, based in Washington, D.C.
