Monte Sereno woman receives tribute awardAny human resource director who can expand a corporation from 50 employees to 300 surely has some secret method tucked up her sleeve. Perhaps that is why Monte Sereno resident Claire Brown was recently selected as a recipient of the Santa Clara Valley YWCA Tribute to Women and Industry Award. For the past 21 years, Brown has served as human resource director for Caere Corporation, an international software development and production company, which has grown to become the largest employer in Los Gatos. Brown not only manages personnel at Caere, but also serves on the board of directors for the Cambrian Center, a low-cost housing complex for senior citizens in the San Jose area. The TWIN Award is presented annually by the YWCA to honor executive-level women who have made outstanding contributions in their fields. Brown said of the recognition, "I feel doubly rewarded--to work in the culture of Caere Corporation and to be recognized for my contributions to the company."
