    Volleyball camps

    The Vision Volleyball Club will host indoor and beach volleyball camps for girls this summer at Los Gatos High School and West Valley Community College in Saratoga.

    Indoor camps will be held July 23-26, 1-3:30 p.m. each day, at West Valley College for girls in grades 5-9, and Aug. 6-9, 6-8:30 p.m. each day, at Los Gatos for girls in grades 9-12.

    Beach camps will be held at West Valley College on July 30-Aug. 1, 9-11 a.m. each day, for girls in grades 5-9, and July 30-Aug. 1, 5-7 p.m. each day, for girls in high school and college.

    Camp participants will receive instruction in volleyball fundamentals and tactics, and will learn the basics of team play. The cost is $140 per player for each session, and all campers receive T-shirts.

    Longtime Los Gatos High School volleyball coach Joe Ripp will run the indoor camps, and the beach camps will be run by Katy Eldridge, currently a top-10 ranked professional beach volleyball player.

    All-Comer meets

    Los Gatos will host the 22nd annual series of summer All-Comer Track and Field meets on the high school track.

    Meets are slated for Thursday evenings (July 19 and 26, and Aug. 2, 9 and 16). Pole vault competition begins at 5 p.m. with the rest of the field events getting under way at 5:30 p.m. Track events begin at 6 p.m.

    Competition will be in the following divisions: open men and women, high school boys and girls, masters men and women, and age group for kids in most events.

    The entry fee is $3 for unlimited events, and the cost is $2 for spectators. Proceeds go towards the upkeep and resurfacing cost of the Los Gatos track.

    Dammit Run

    The 28th annual Dammit Run returns on Aug. 18 when another large field of tough runners is expected to make the rugged climb to the Lexington Reservoir, then return to the Los Gatos High School track.

    Race-day registration will begin at 6:30 a.m., and the starting gun will blast at 8:30 a.m.

    The preregistration entry fee is $10 ($30 with a T-shirt), and the fee is $20 on race day ($40 with a T-shirt). T-shirts alone are priced at $20 and will be sold at the track on race day or in advance at Athletic Performance, 55 W. Main St., or at the Runners Factory, 51 University Ave. For more information, call 354-7365 or 395-4311.
