Los Gatos Weekly-TimesNews BriefsRedistricting session has been rescheduled for August 27 The Santa Clara County Committee on School District Organization has canceled its July 23 meeting and rescheduled it for Aug. 27 at 6 p.m. at a location yet to be determined. Larry Shirey, senior research analyst for the Santa Clara County Office of Education, said the committee "plans to discuss fewer and more specific scenarios" at the August meeting. The committee held a public forum June 19 in which six possible redistricting scenarios were discussed. Some 400 people attended the forum and voiced their concerns about the options. The input from the forum is being used to narrow the scenarios or add different ones, Shirey said. 'Facts for Voters' booklet offered The "Facts for Voters" pamphlet, compiled by the League of Women Voters of Los Gatos- Saratoga-Monte Sereno, is now available at libraries, senior centers, high schools and at West Valley College. The pamphlet contains voter registration information and information about elected officials in local, county, state and national offices. For a copy of the booklet, anyone interested can also call the league at 867-VOTE.
