Coaches needed

Los Gatos athletic director Butch Cattolico is looking for coaches for the girls' softball team and the girls' and boys' swimming teams for the 1998 spring season. Those interested should call Cattolico at 354-2730, ext. 274.

Camp with Pros

South Bay Baseball will present its annual Camp with the Pros summer baseball skills camp for players ages 7-15.

The camp will be held Aug. 4-8 at John Muir Middle School, Branham Lane near Almaden Expressway, and fees are $99.

Former San Francisco Giants pitcher Roger Samuels is the camp director, and Mark Cummins, the head coach at Live Oak High School and a former professional infielder, is the director of instruction.

The camp will cover baseball fundamentals and will feature daily drills and scrimmages. Players will be grouped by age and ability levels.

Basketball Camps

The San Jose Lasers of the American Basketball League will hold summer basketball camps for boys and girls in August at San Jose State University.

The camps, led by members of the Lasers and the team's coaching staff, will be held Aug. 11-14, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. each day, for girls in grades 8-12 and Aug. 18-21, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. each day, for girls and boys in grades 3-8. The cost is $205 per player.

All-comers meets

Los Gatos will host all-comers track and field meets on Thursdays, 5 p.m., through Aug. 14, at the high school track. There is a $3 entry fee. For more information, call Willie Harmatz at 354-7365 or Steve Barth at 354-2730.
