    The Right Moves

The San Jose Children's Musical Theater presents 'Chess' at the Montgomery Theater in San Jose from July 30 through Aug. 8. The musical takes audiences to Budapest, Bangkok and the former Soviet Union to attend an international chess tournament between a Russian and an American. The sub-plot offers an intriguing love story. Among the cast, who range in age from 14 to 20, are Los Gatans Jason Jurman and Ashley Bening (above). For showtimes and ticket prices, call 288-KIDS.
