Summit Challenge in the running

The seventh annual Summit Challenge, which includes a 10K and 5K run and two-mile walk, is scheduled for Aug. 1. The race itself begins at 8 a.m. at 23845 Summit Road in Los Gatos, also known as the Old Loma Prieta School. Participants may arrive earlier for on-site registration.

The event is sponsored by the Loma Prieta Community Recreation Program, a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the residents of the Santa Cruz Mountains. Fee is $20 in advance or $22 on race day. Winners in each race will receive prizes. Preregistration is available at the recreation program building, located at 23800 Summit Road.
