Los Gatos Weekly-TimesObituariesLeah McLain Leah Kathryn Melehan McLain of Los Gatos died June 19 of respiratory failure at the age of 81. McLain was a third-generation San Josean. Her grandfather, Peter Stock, owned the first hardware store in San Jose, where McLain worked as a child. Early in her marriage, she and her husband owned a restaurant. Later she helped her husband run a plumbing business. McLain moved to her Los Gatos property in 1955, where she resided until her death. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Don Anderson, of Los Gatos; her granddaughter, Mitzi Anderson, of Los Gatos; her brother, James Melehan, of Saratoga; and her sister, Bobby Locks,, of France. The family also wishes to acknowledge McLain's health-care provider, Maria Franco, for her dedicated service. Memorial services have been held. Stephen Keller Los Gatos resident Stephen Keller died June 20 of cancer. He was 56. Keller was born August 22, 1940, in Columbus, Ohio. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was superintendent of new construction of Mission College and operations manager at Buckles Smith Electronics. He also served on the board of trustees of the Los Gatos Union School District and was a longtime member and past president of the Los Gatos Kiwanis Club. He was an avid bicyclist as well. Keller is survived by wife Barbara of Los Gatos; son Patrick of Los Gatos; daughter Kristin Iles of Walnut Creek; grandsons Jack and Cole; brother Mac Keller; and sisters Jane Levy and Deedra Keller. He was preceded in death by his sister, the late Marcia Keller-Smith. Memorial services have been held. Donations may be made to the Kaiser Hospice Program, 830 Kiely Blvd., Santa Clara, 95051. Margaret Berg Margaret Lois Berg of Los Gatos died June 10 of heart failure at the age of 88 in a Saratoga nursing facility. Born July 27, 1908, in Port Angeles, Wash., Berg lived in Los Gatos for 42 years. She and her late husband, Clarence, were proprietors of Berg's Antiques in Los Gatos from 1950 to 1983. She conducted the same type of business in Kelso, Wash., as a buyer for a large department store. Berg was also a longtime member of St. Mary's Church and a member of the Quota Club of Los Gatos and the Little Village Lane Merchants' Association. Survivors include sons John Berg of Los Gatos and Joseph Berg of Saratoga; sister Angela Weaver of Bainbridge Island, Wash.; brother Daniel Donahue of Port Angeles, Wash.; grandchildren Joseph, John and Michael Berg; Margaret Rowe, Jennifer Hatfield, Elizabeth Crimi and Sean Hubbard; and 12 great-grandchildren. Memorial services have been held.
