Los Gatos Weekly-TimesWells Fargo Bank is held upBy Shari Kaplan The Wells Fargo Bank located at 150 N. Santa Cruz Ave. was robbed July 23 of an undisclosed amount of money. At 10:57 a.m., according to Sgt. Michael Barbieri of the Los Gatos/Monte Sereno Police Dept., a man entered the bank, walked up to one of the teller windows and presented a note that read, "I have a gun. I will use it. Don't set off any alarms." When the teller complied and gave the suspect money, he put the money into an envelope and left the bank. No witnesses saw him use any type of weapon, nor did anyone notice a getaway car. Witnesses did say that before walking up to the teller, the suspect was milling around in front of the teller counter, either talking on a cellular phone or pretending to use the phone. The suspect is described as a white male, around age 25, with a mustache and goatee. He is approximately 5-feet 9-inches tall and weighs about 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue-green, small-billed baseball cap, dark sunglasses, a tan T-shirt and blue jean shorts. Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any additional information is asked to call Det. John Pernick of the Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Police Detective Bureau at 354-6825. After 5 p.m., the 24-hour dispatcher is available at 354-8600.
