Dog park in town would meet a need

How can I find out if anyone in Los Gatos is developing or plans to develop a dog park? I now wait for tennis courts to be free so my dog can exercise. I walk my dog in our neighborhood, which is hilly and is awful on my poor knees, or I pack up and go down to Pacific Grove beach area or to Las Palmas Park near De Anza and Remington. Other communities have seen the need and provided.

Are we going to do the same here? There would be many benefits to having a nearby park.

'Starter castles' consume energy, water and space

I was amazed to discover a new annex to Disneyland in Monte Sereno as I drove by the old Claravale Dairy property. It made me realize that the Santa Clara Valley has become Fantasyland for the rich and not-so-famous. These "starter castles" have risen up all over our valley.

My question is whether local governments, including our own, are going to begin to address the problem of the excessive use of energy and water created by these oversized houses? We are all encouraged to conserve but perhaps conservation has to begin with the size of the house that is permitted and the amount of land left open for water to penetrate into the underground. Wouldn't it be practical to leave some neighborhoods of smaller homes for those who wish to downsize or for those who choose to have no children?

It seems to me these are questions we all need to ponder so that our children can inherit a sustainable, comfortable lifestyle, not an affluent lifestyle.
