Accident brings a string of cars downtown

Caltrans workers, a tow truck crew and California Highway Patrol officers work to clean up a big rig accident that occurred on July 31, on Highway 17, just north of Santa Cruz Avenue. Two cars and the truck--loaded with Sunny Farms' juice--were involved. No one was injured, but the entire cargo of glass bottles shattered across the highway. Northbound Highway 17 was closed from 2:30 to 8 p.m., and traffic was diverted through downtown Los Gatos. The accident is under investigation.
