Dammit Run
The 27th annual Dammit Run returns to Los Gatos on Aug. 12.
As races go, this is a tough one. And anyone who has ever made the dusty climb to the face of Lexington Dam and back knows it.
Race-day registration will begin at 6:30 a.m., and the starting gun will blast at 8:30 a.m. Runners can preregister at Athletic Performance, 55 W. Main St., or at the Runners Factory, 51 University Ave., through Aug. 10.
The preregistration entry fee is $8 ($20 with a T-shirt), and the fee is $15 on race day ($30 with a T-shirt). T-shirts alone are priced at $15 and will be sold at the track on race day or in advance at Runners Factory and Athletic Performance. Proceeds from the Dammit go to benefit the Los Gatos High School Track Repair Fund.

The Los Gatos Lions' Club will sponsor a pancake breakfast following the Aug. 12 running of the Dammit Run. Proceeds from the breakfast will go towards fund-raising efforts to build a new swimming pool at LGHS.
Soccer Camp
The Los Gatos United Soccer League, in cooperation with Major League Soccer, will host a Major League Soccer Camp Aug. 14-18 at Fisher Middle School.
Camp hours are 5-6:30 p.m. for players ages 5-6, and the cost is $56 per player. For players over that age, camp hours are 5-8 p.m. and the cost is $97 per player.
Each player receives an individual player evaluation, a Major League Soccer Camps T-shirt and ball, an MLS gift and a free companion ticket to an MLS game.

Soccer tryouts
The Los Gatos Lightning, a boys under-11 select soccer team, will hold tryouts in Los Gatos on Aug. 10 and 11 at Daves Avenue School. Tryouts begin at 7 p.m. each night.
Coach David deMilo is looking for fast, skillful players from Los Gatos and Saratoga who are not on another CYSA roster, who were born between Aug. 1, 1989, and July 31, 1990, and who have a passion for the game. The team is especially interested in goalkeepers.
