Builder eyeing mobile home property to form citizens' committee

The company planning high-density housing where Los Gatos Mobile Home Park now stands wants to form a citizens' committee.

"It would basically be a dialogue," said project manager Mark Hansen of the development firm Barry Swenson Builder.

Swenson wants to build as many as 150 units on the six-acre trailer park, located near the intersection of highways 9 and 17. The project would mean relocating 64 households from the 72-lot park.

Swenson would also dedicate six acres of creekside open space to the town.

The committee could include representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and general plan committee, Hansen said. It would meet at least three times to address specific questions.

But first, Hansen will present his rough plans to the general plan committee on Sept. 3.
