Rita Boren joins board of WV-MCC foundation

Rita Boren, a real estate broker with Fred Sands Landmark Properties, has joined the West Valley-Mission Community College District Advancement Board. The Advancement Foundation is the fundraising arm of the district, which has two colleges: West Valley in Saratoga and Mission in Santa Clara.

Boren, who has lived in the Los Gatos/Saratoga area since 1965, is a former West Valley student who graduated at the top of her class. She later graduated Phi Kappa Phi from San Jose State University with a bachelor's degree in business. She is a member of the Los Gatos Rotary Club and the San Jose Symphony Conductor's Circle. She has volunteered time on the Via Rehabilitation Board and as a table captain for the annual YWCA Professional Women's Luncheon.

Los Gatos real estate agents meet politicos

Jeff Barnett of Alain Pinel Realtors and Danny and Heather Mander of Fine Homes & Estates traveled to Washington, D.C., in early June to meet with key Congressional leaders as part of the 2000 National Association of Realtors Mid-Year Directors Meetings and Hill Visits.

As members of a group of representatives from the Silicon Valley Association of Realtors, Barnett and the Manders met with Congresswoman Anna Eshoo, as well as personnel from Rep. Tom Campbell's office.

They discussed important issues affecting local homeowners and the real-estate industry.
