Los Gatos Weekly-TimesThe ProwlerThanks to popular demand, the Prowler is reprising the personalized license plate column theme after a three-month absence. Not surprisingly in Los Gatos, some car's plates have a feline theme, especially when the car itself is a cat. Take the two Mercury Cougars the Prowler saw recently: PURR2US and 1990CAT. Then there's the Jaguar with APRRRRR. It would be a pretty loud noise if a wildcat of that size began purring! Not to neglect our canine cousins, the Prowler thought K9 KIDZ, seen several times on a black car around the Civic Center, is a pretty cute plate. A lot of people are eager to share their state of mind. The driver of the truck I DIG CA obviously loves the Golden State. The driver of the sport utility vehicle GRVYLUV apparently thinks love is just plain groovy, while the family inside HAPPIUS must be pleased with their lot in life. The Prowler thinks it's a safe bet that GOT2SNG's driver probably croons along to the car radio. Unfortunately for the drivers of WEDANCE and KAYAKNG, one cannot engage in either of those activities while on the road. As for the driver of CBNFEVR, there are several remedies for that affliction. Here are a few plates that don't fit into a theme. MAH 4X4, on a truck tooling down Highway 9, sounds like someone with a Southern accent boasting about his "pick'em up truck," while the driver of 4YVRYNG would be happy just staying forever young. Finally, there's OOOHRED--quite an incongruous exclamation, seeing as the car was teal--and the luxury sedan DELTAQN, whose driver may fancy the car a scaled down version of the Mississippi riverboat of the same name.
