Police Report

Grand theft--Aug. 8, 12:15 p.m., on Overlook Road. The caller discovered more than $15,000 worth of jewelry missing from a closet and suspects it may have been taken by remodeling workers. Police took a report.

Traffic hazard--Aug. 8, 11:04 a.m., at Winchester Boulevard and Newell Avenue. Police helped push a disabled vehicle from the roadway.

Reckless driving--Aug. 8, 1:52 p.m., on Daves Avenue. The caller reported speeding cars along Daves Avenue. Police will give the area extra patrols.

Alarm--Aug. 8, 4:40 p.m., on Oak Drive. Police responded to a residential alarm and discovered the wind had blown open a door.

Suspicious people--Aug. 9, 1:15 p.m. on Park Avenue. The caller saw three men walking through a parking lot; one of them urinated and walked down by the creek. Police searched the area but did not locate them.

Juvenile disturbance--Aug. 9, 3:21 p.m., at Church and E. Main streets. The caller reported three or four skateboarders who almost ran over her mother and then were impolite to the two women. Police contacted and counseled the youths.
